Chapter 11 - Ponyboy

This day was the worst, all I could do was stay inside, and lie in bed. I was very bored so, I started to flip through Soda's old yearbook. When I was flipping through, I saw a face that looked very familiar. I studied it for a few minutes, then I realized that it was Bob. Suddenly Darry shows up in the doorway and tells me that Randy was here to see me. Randy looked sorta nervous. He told me that he was here to check to see if I'm okay, and also to tell me that we will be seeing the judge tomorrow. He said that he felt lousy that he was mixed up in all of this and his dad wasn't proud. We kept on talking about other stuff, but then he said something about Johnny and I got mad. I guess that I was in denial because I believed that I was the one that killed Bob not Johnny, but I know now.

Chapter 10 - Ponyboy

I felt so dizzy, almost as if were drunk. I walked outside and saw Dally driving off. Then I started to walk home. It was like I was in a dream, it was so unreal. I couldn't walk anymore, I felt like I would pass out. So then I searched for a ride home. Soon enough someone came and I got in. He drove me home, and I said thanks and got out. The gang was in the house just minding there own business, blissfully unaware of the fact that Johnny was dead. Darry came up to me,mad that I came home so late, but then he saw the sadness and lifelessness on my face and asked what's wrong. Then I just blurted it out"Johnny, he's dead" everyone stopped and was silent. Then I said that Dally left, it was too much for him. Then Darry told me that I was sick and that I should sit down. I felt really sick but I didn't want to sit down. Then a few seconds later the phone rang,Darry answered the phone, and he had an odd look on his face.He then hung up and said that Dally robbed a grocery store and the cops are after him.At that moment I felt funny again, then we heard sirens. We all ran outside.At that vacant lot we saw Dally running from the police. Then he did the stupidest thing in his life. He raised his unloaded gun, and then he died. No,I thought now I lost two friends, not both, please not both. But it was too late, he was dead, and I knew that at some point in my life I would have to move on.

Chapter 9 - Ponyboy

Last night was the night of the rumble. When I got home we had thirty minutes to get ready, so I ate quickly, took a shower and we prepared for the big night. Everyone was excited about the rumble, and everyone liked fights for different reasons. Darry likes fights because he wants to show off his tough tuff build, Soda wants to fight because he thinks it's fun, Two-Bit likes it, because he's Two-Bit, Steve fights because of hies hatred, Dally fights to show how tough he is, Johnny doesn't like fights, but I'm not sure why I like fights, maybe to blow some steam, or getting back at the Socs, but to tell you the truth, I think fights are just a waste of precious time. Tim's gang and the Brumly gang were already there, and were waiting for us, and the Socs to arrive. Soon, the Socs got there, and we fought, it was gruesome. I was being beaten bad, but Darry was watching, so if I wasn't doing so hot, he would help me out a bit, then a soc pinned me to the ground, and started to kick me as hard as he could. Dally, came to join us in the fight, he got out of the hospital to come, and he wasn't doing to good. I was too dizzy to see what was going on, until someone said that the Socs were running! We won. Right away,the gang went to see Johnny. We were about to enter the room but then the nurse stopped us before we could go in. She said that Johnny was dying. Two-bit then threatened her with a knife. She let us in , but it was because we were friends with him, not because of the knife. When we went in, I saw Johnny just laying there. He looked dead we all thought he was dead. But then he started to talk, first to Dally,but then he told me to come closer. He said Stay Gold Ponyboy, Stay Gold. I didn't understand at the time but now I know what he meant. Then He died.

Chapter 8 - Ponyboy

We went to see Johnny and Dally at the hospital today. Johnny isn't doing to good; he was as pale as snow when we went to see him. But Dally is doing fine, he is still his old self mean and unsatisfied with everything.We saw Johnny first, because the nurse said that he is in critical condition. We were about to leave when the nurse came om and told us that Johnny's mother was here. He didn't want to see her because he thought that all she was going to do was tell him that he was in a lot of trouble. Then he passed out. We decided to check up on Dally. He was fine, he kept on talking about how he would miss the big rumble tomorrow.We didn't stay too long because Dally was in a bad mood. We left to go home, and all I can think about is the rumble. Whats going to happen tomorrow I keep asking myself. For some reason I think something bad is gonna happen but I don't know what. I think I should quit worrying and start thinking about how I'll defeat those socs.

Chapter 7 - Ponyboy

We were so tired, all of us were almost about to pass out. So the Doctor told us to go home and get some rest, and that Dally and Johnny will be okay if you're gone. So we went home. When it came to the time, when we had to get out of the car, I was too tired so Darry had to carry me in. I barely got any sleep, I woke up screaming and in a cold sweat, because of a dream that I've been having often someting about my parents, but I can never completely remember anything.
Well, anyways Two-Bit and Steve came in to the house and asked me how I was doing and I lied and said I was fine. Then Darry and Soda left to go to work. We left soon after to go get some cokes at the Tasty Freeze. While we were getting our cokes the blue mustang pulled up, and inside was Randy Adderson who was Marcia's boyfriend. What was really odd about him now is that he was beeing suprisingly nice to us. He called me and Johnny Heroes for doing what we did at the church, and he thought he awaould never do it himself, but I told him that He would have done the same thing if he were in my shoes. He wanted everything to be normal, no more fighting or anything, its all a big mess he said.

Chapter 6 Ponyboy

Earlier Dally told me that Cherry Valance; the girl that Johnny and I met at the drive in a few days ago is now the Greasers official Soc Spy. I know it sounds odd but it will help us a lot, and she thinks she owes it to us because it was her fault that this big mess happened. Anyways after that happened we went back to the church to find that the Church was on fire! There were people outside that were just staring at it and they were missing some kids. Then we heard screaming. Immediately Johnny and I went running into the church to find those kids. I dunno why we did that, I guess it's because we thought we were the ones that started the fire. Johnny and I found the kids and brought them safely outside. Later, we all went to the doctors office because we were all hurt bad.Johnny was severely injured, they say that if he doesn't die, then he might be in a wheelchair forever. He'll never be able to do the things he loved to do ever again, like sports, and football. There were reporters swarming in all over us, asking too many questions in so little time, Then I saw two boys enter the room, it was Darry and Soda. I was so excited to see them that I jumped up ran to them and gave them a big hug.
All I can think about is Johnny and his condition, and Darry and Soda. When I was with them I felt like everything was gonna be okay.

Chapter 5 Ponyboy

About two days ago Dally told us to go to this place and buy some food to last us for the week. It's been a few days, and I'm tired and hungry. When I woke up, there was a note enscribed in the sand on the ground that read that Johnny went to the store to get supplies. Johnny just came back from getting food, and golly, was glad to see him. He bought us some candy food and other stuff. Then I say something, sissors and peroxide. The sight of those two items gave me a chill. I knew why Johnny bought those things but I was never going to agree. But after a while, I gave in, and Johnny cut my tuff hair. It was the longest ten minutes of my life.
All we can eat is bologna sandwiches and it is disgusting. I'm tellin' ya If I see another piece of bologna I'm gonna hurl. I don't know why, but I think everything is going to be okay.
